Building details: Hudson Yards is New York’s newest neighborhood. In Hudson Yards, there are over 100 diverse shops and restaurants, executive office buildings, art galleries, dynamic cultural institutions including The Shed, modern residences, 14 acres of public plazas, gardens and groves and the world’s first Equinox Hotel®.
Hudson Yards has become the cultural center of Manhattan’s New West Side. A vision for future urban development, this new neighborhood has not only changed the way New York looks to the world, but the way the world sees New York.
Project details: The project included three office towers, two residential buildings, a boutique hotel, and a million square-foot retail/dining destination. A Central Utility Plant was installed, consisting of Chillers, Boilers, and Gas Fired Engines. These were installed with the ability to power the entire facility if needed.
KSW worked closely with the owner and design engineer starting from conceptual design through project completion. This collaboration helped guarantee optimal energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. KSW sourced and installed over $600 Million in HVAC systems and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Over 28,000 tons of Chilled Water capacity
- 261,000 MBH of Hot Water Capacity
- Four x 13.4 KW gas fired engines powering the CoGeneration plant.
